THE QUIREBOYS, WOLFSBANE To Team Up For U.K. Tour
April 21, 2009According to U.K.'s Classic Rock magazine, THE QUIREBOYS will celebrate 20 years since the release of their debut album, "A Bit Of What You Fancy", by playing the album in full — from start to finish — on eight dates across the UK this December. To add to the nostalgia, support comes from the original lineup of WOLFSBANE, who were the opening act on the very first "A Bit Of What You Fancy" tour.
"A Bit Of What You Fancy" was recorded in Los Angeles, in 1989, under the production of former Rod Stewart guitarist Jim Cregan. It was an immediate success, entering the U.K. album chart at No. 2 in February 1990.
In support of the album, THE QUIREBOYS toured relentlessly around the world. In America they played with L.A. GUNS, SOUNDGARDEN, THE CRAMPS and IGGY POP.
In the U.K., key gigs included a support slot for THE ROLLING STONES at St James' Park in Newcastle and then, two months later, they played in front of 72,000 people at Monsters Of Rock with AEROSMITH.
They also had the prestigious job of opening up for GUNS N' ROSES on their first-ever U.K. tour.
